During the month of Feb. I will be exhibiting along with a number of other local artists in a group show at Funke Fired Arts in Hyde Park; free nosh on opening night, as usual.

Something to Add...

If it were up to me, I would add a mini-lesson on smartboards.

On-Line Classes yea/nay

Mr. B. treated us to an on-line class this eve., and although we didn't have sound (text entry) it was a lot of fun. I noticed more classmates responding - and being a bit silly sometimes; funny what 'anonymity' will give us permission to do.

There are some other benefits to this sort of format that come to mind: students who wouldn't otherwise be able to access a place-room (perhaps serious illness, disability, or distant home) could take the course, an instructor who wasn't in the area could still teach a needed course, and the class could be composed of students who live all across the globe (now that would be an enriched learning experience).

And still, there are some drawbacks, too: it ain't gonna be cheap and there are a lot of digital dinosaurs out there, students may come to miss the physicality of the traditional classroom (but passing notes would be a lot easier), and what will you do if your connection fails?

...I'd get fat 'cuz I'd sit there snacking the entire time...

Playing w/ Prezi

We had a presentation about on-line presentation tools this evening, so of course, I've spent a good part of my computer time goofing w/ Prezi; I can't believe I how much more fun this is than PP.

I might actually enjoy this legal brief presentation.
